Pre-2026 update!

Once again I’m making that „you haven’t heard from me for a long time” post. As I have discovered, there has been a reason for it and I’ve felt it, but couldn’t really put a finger on it. I guess it’s never to late to get better.

As you might have guessed, I’ve been struggling a bit with my mental health, especially, but not exclusive to having difficulties with organising myself. On occasion, I’ve been able to focus for a longer period of time and actually write something about what I’ve done with my home IT setup or cycling. But I also have so many posts started, even almost ready but I’ve never been able to get them to the finish line.

Among those, that might have been, is my long term first gen Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt review, which has been now long replaced by ROAM V2. How an iPad Pro, which has been now replaced by a newer model, has served me as my primary computer. About my first ever real bikepacking trip, my 2022 Nova Eroica. I’ve also got rid of Windows on my gaming PC and replaced it with Arch. You get the gist.

So, it’s been a pattern of things getting worse and worse and I’ve decided to seek professional help, which will most likely end up in some sort of ADHD diagnosis.

Anyways, 2025 hasn’t been that gracious of a year for me. In July, I’ve had a cycling accident of my own doing, in which ended up with a fractured rib. It did hurt as hell, but I’ve been extremely lucky with it – it’s been only one rib and a clean one too. The real misfortune was that it happened just a few days before our family holidays and we had to reschedule all of it, losing a lot of money in the process. I was also unable to ride a bicycle for over 5 weeks.

Later on I had to go to a hospital for a long overdue sinus surgery, which is good in itself, but has caused another cycling break. That, with a shitload of bad habits, have caused a significant, 12% weight gain.

The last important, somewhat life changing event has been a rapid worsening of my eyesight. Within months I started having difficulty reading, especially of what’s written on screens, up to a point I’ve been sometimes guessing the text by it’s shape. I am now a „proud” glasses wearer for everyday and work activities.

Enough complaining, though. The path I need to follow has become much clearer now and I’ve found some peace of mind, as I’ve started a journey of improving myself. I have a strong resolution to write more and make it a new habit, an organisation exercise for my brain. I’m planning to still deliver on that bikepacking post, as I’ve done a lot of preparations for it. I also have way to many books I haven’t finished reading.

So, stay tuned for more content. It might be a bit less thought out but I’m hoping get it out there!
